Annual Day Trip

CITY OF LIVERPOOL

THE OLD DOCK, THE MUSEUM OF LIVERPOOL

THE MARITIME MUSEUM, THE MUSEUM OF SLAVERY

A party of members and guests embarked on their coach journey from Traveller's choice Depot Carnforth at 8.30 am arriving at approximately 10.15am at the Maritime Museum.

After an introductory talk the party were taken to the site below ground to see the Old Dock originally known as Thomas Steers Dock,the worlds first commercial wet dock.

The 1.4ha dock was built on the River Mersey in Liverpool, starting in 1710 and completed in 1716.The Dock was filled in in the 1820's and was only rediscovered in the early 2000's.

LES Members and guests departed at 6.00pm from Liverpool arriving at Carnforth approximately at 7.30pm.

A most enjoyable day out for Members Partners and Guests
